UK Inventory Accountant (f/m/d) – Fixed term contract (18 month)

Your role:

We’re in business to save our home planet. Our UK Inventory Accountant will be responsible for managing and monitoring UK inventory and warehouse related matters. You will be responsible from finance perspective for all goods that enter and leave our UK warehouse.

Our UK warehouse will be a brand-new warehouse opening in Q3 2024.

Our UK Inventory Accountant will have in-depth knowledge of our supply chain and understand all financial impacts and accounting processes when operational decisions are made. Being a part of our Amsterdam accounting team, you will work closely with different functions within the organization, such as logistics, Wholesale, eCommerce, Retail and IT.


Main tasks:

• Responsible for all warehouse finance related topics (inventory management, inventory reconciliation, cost management, inventory control) for our UK warehouse.

• Responsible for all inbound and outbound finance related topics (inbound and outbound transport, putting stock on shelf, price checks and approvals) for our UK warehouse.

• Maintain, record and reconcile subledgers and ledgers for the inventory accounting within required time frames, e.g Inventory finished goods / inventory in transit / returns / inventory adjustments / intercompany / standard price cost analysis / PPV / inbound and outbound freight.

• Initiate improvements to streamline our processes with a high interest to implement technology solutions, identify new reporting requirements and work on continuous improvements.

• Contributing to the month end close, (interim) audit and year end close processes, potentially be point of contact for UK warehouse related topics to our auditors.

• Analysis on inventory ageing / inventory turnover / days sales outstanding / cost prices / margin analysis / discounts.

• Building strong relationships with different stakeholders within the organization.

• Ad hoc requests, within the organization and team


What we’re looking for:

• A love of the outdoors

• A passion for saving our home planet and making a positive impact through your work

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Warehousing, Retail and inventory accounting experience would be considered as a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and experience working with large datasets.

• Interest in creating reporting and analysis.

• Ability to work under tight schedules.

• Flexible attitude & good team player.

• Great attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Proactive with a “can do” attitude.

• Ability to work on own initiative.

• Fluency in English.


It’s a plus if you also have the following:

• Knowledge of business intelligence tools (like Power BI and Tableau) and ERP, especially Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O


Other important details:

• This is a fixed term full-time vacancy, based in Amsterdam, intended to support the team for 18 months. If you’re successful in the selection process, we will offer you an 18month fixed-term contract.

• We have a hybrid work model, working from home for maximum 3 (full-time roles) days per week.
